Forming the Passive
Membentuk kalimat pasif
Avtive : Mary helped the boy.
Passive : The boy was helped by Mary.
Note: in the passive, the object of an active verb becomes the subject of the passive verb.

Simple present : She helps him
Present progressive : She is helping him
Present perfect : She has helped him
Simple past : She helped him
Past progressive : She was helping him
Past perfect : She had helped him
Simple future : She will help him
Future perfect : She will have helped him
The passive with Get
1. I'm getting hungry. Let's eat soon.
(Saya menjadi lapar. Mari makan segera)
2. You shouldn't eat so much. You'll get fat.
(Kamu tidak harus makan terlalu banyak. Kamu akan gemuk)
3. I stopped working because i got sleepy.
(Saya berhenti bekerja sebab saya mengantuk)
4. I stopped working because i got tired.
(Saya berhenti bekerja sebab saya lelah)
5. They are getting married next month.
(Mereka akan menikah bulan depan)
6. I got worried because he was two hours late.
(Saya menjadi kuatir sebab dia terlambat dua jam)
Using gerunds as the objects of preposition.
1. We talked about going to Canada for our vacation.
(Kami membicarakan tentang pergi ke Canada untuk liburan kami)
2. Sue is in charge of organizing the meeting.
(Sue bertugas untuk mengatur pertemuan)
3. I'm interested in learning more about your work.
